A Little Truth

This was a good article on the reality of life when a woman has a baby with a man that refuses to marry her....

It's also a good article on the reality of life when a woman has sex with a man who refuses to marry her. God bless them for choosing life.

Definitely was a good article... so sad they must think it will cement their relationship. Ugh... even married couples fall into that trap and then divorce and the poor kid grows up messed up.

I question the reason why there's a mentality that a baby will cement a relationship in the first place. Why does anyone develop the kind of psychology that would allow a baby to be a tool of manipulation? What is going on in society that people are thinking these kinds of thoughts? Have we, in the Western culture, come so far away from an understanding of 'family' and 'basic humanity' that it is a noticible trend to bring a child into existence purely to manipulate a partnership?

Is anyone else as disgusted by this as I am?

When will people ever learn? Oh, wait, we never do. That's why we need Christ so bad. :D

Thursday's Child,

I don't think a relationship with Christ exempts people from continuing in purposeful ignorance and rebellion. Romans 7 makes that case rather plain. What do you think?

Women are also pushing men away from them. Look at abortion, where a man has no say in whether his child lives or dies. Women have told men they are not included in the life-and-death decision about their own child.

From the men's point of view, my bil's nephew was griping yesterday about how hard it is to obtain any custodial rights for a child when there was no marriage involved.

No one can "bring a child into existence"--whatever the motive. As one who has experienced both infertility and miscarriage, I can tell you that having sex is a choice; conceiving a child is not. Life comes only from His hand, and His ways are not ours.
