Hi Rebellious..... I couldn't figure out how to send you an e-mail, so I thought I'd leave you a comment.... First, thank you for your comments on the blog! Second, I think the political experience here is quite different from Indiana. Though there are parts of Wisconsin which are very conservative, Madison is not, and the vocal (liberal) part of the population, which is the majority in this area, basically has a notion that they are the smartest people in the world, and anybody who thinks differently from them probably doesn't really understand the issues -- very patronizing, so I generally don't discuss politics here. Most of the people contacting us were trying to get us to vote against a marriage amendment, and the man who wanted to talk with my husband who came to our door actually had a big "vote no" tag in his hand... They had a huge campaign to foster support against the amendment, and in fact, the local area voted two to one against it. The rest of the state had the final say, however, because the amendment was passed handily, and determined that a marriage is, indeed, between one man and one woman. It's hard to have conservative tendencies around here, because generally the liberals think that it is okay for me to have my own views on things, as long as my views match theirs and don't exclude anybody.... (A typical case of the people who fight for "tolerance" being the most "intolerant" of anybody who doesn't see things their way...) Anyway, sorry to get political on your blog, and please feel free to delete this comment from your posting... I just heard my older son say, "You're not the boss of me" to my younger son, so I'd better go see what that is all about.... Thanks again for your comments!
