What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The West

Your accent is the lowest common denominator of American speech. Unless you're a SoCal surfer, no one thinks you have an accent. And really, you may not even be from the West at all, you could easily be from Florida or one of those big Southern cities like Dallas or Atlanta.

Mine was right too. Described me as Inland North and talked about when I "step away from the Great Lakes." Well, I've lived within a few miles of Lake Erie for most of my life! :) And I do call all carbonated drinks pop!

Mine was just what people have told me. That I basically don't have a lot of an accent, but if you had to put me some where, it would be Midlander (or most people have told me Midwestern). Go figure, I was born and raised in a place that should have given me quite an accent! LOL!

It looks to me like I scored just as highly on Westerner as I did on Midlander (looking at the bars), but for some reason it placed me as a Westerner (phew) :)

But really, given t.v.'s influence and the fact that the majority of Westerners come from the Midwest or are children of Midwesterners, then the almost negligible difference makes sense.

Around here, there are many people who have a strong accent, yet those in Fort Wayne rarely do (at least what I'd call one). In fact, I have a good friend who I would say has a "California accent" but her brothers have what I would call a strong rural Midwestern one. She's worked in Fort Wayne (medium-sized city) for her entire adult life. They haven't. It's interesting seeing it in the same family :)

I took the test and it said that I was from Boston! That is saying something from someone who lives in PA Dutch country!
